Mr Conroy has worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Harrogate since 2006. Specialising in Hip and Knee Surgery he performs large numbers of successful Joint Replacements and Arthroscopic, or 'keyhole', surgeries each year.

Actively involved in cutting edge research Mr. Conroy has been published in several medical journals and has been recognised with numerous awards including the GlaxoSmithKline Orthopaedic Essay Prize and the John Fitton Prize for Orthopaedic Specialist Registrars.

Mr Sameh Sidhom is a Consultant in Calderdale and Huddersfield NHSFT, specialising in hip and knee surgery with a focus on complex and revision hip surgery.

He developed an interest in young adult hip and non arthritic hip problems whilst working with Mr Jon Conroy in Harrogate, and now receives tertiary referrals regarding these conditions from consultant colleagues and MSK specialists.

Mr Sidhom is a faculty member in the Yorkshire Hip Arthroscopy course and has presented and taught on these conditions.

Colin Holton Hip Surgeon

Mr Colin Holton

Mr Colin Holton qualified in 2002 from the University of Leeds Medical School. Following basic surgical training he became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2005.

His specialist orthopaedic training was in the Yorkshire region and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) 2012. He also undertook an MSc (Mechanical Engineering) investigating the use of bone graft in total hip replacement. His international hip fellowship was undertaken in Denmark under Professor Kjeld Soballe, Mr Martin Lamm and Mr Bent Lund where he gained further exposure to hip replacement and hip arthroscopy. He learnt the technique of minimally invasive PAO (peri-acetabular osteotomy) under world renowned PAO surgeon Prof Kjeld Soballe. He also undertook nationally recognised fellowship training in hip arthroscopy and total hip replacement under Mr Jon Conroy, Harrogate, UK.

Mr Holton was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, with a special interest in adolescent and young adult hip surgery, at the Leeds General Infirmary in 2014.

He submits his arthroplasty and non arthroplasty surgical outcomes to the national registers to ensure his patients outcomes continue to perform to the highest level.

Research Interests:
MSc (by Research) in bio-engineering, University of Leeds. Current research projects:
- The development and clinical validation of a computational diagnostic tool for early intervention hip surgery.
- Bone health in Adult and Paediatric population - Osteonecrosis (AVN) in older children, teenagers and young adults treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
